It came for me so softly
while I was just driftin'
to the callin' of the sandman
The gray haze began to lift
ever so gently from my mind
and the quiet light of truth filtered in
I took a breath of spring time
and was captured by the scent
of her mystical powers
Her smile seemed to look within me
as if she could feel and already knew
the very heart and soul of me
And I knew in an instant
that she was my soul mate
and I was hers
She caressed my cheek
with her fingers and lingered there
as I felt my heart swell with renewal
Passion surged within all
that I had ever been
and it just took me
And then I looked deeply
into her wondrous eyes
and felt forever touch my soul
Then she spoke to me
with the magical and eternal music
of the unconditional promise of her love
And, for the very first time
in all my lifetimes I finally understood
what love was always meant to be
When she came into my arms
all the nightmares vanished
as if they had never been
And we just held each other
while we cried the tears of the travelers
who have finally arrived home
After a long, long journey
of disappointments
and false pathways
And all those interludes of loneliness
seemed all the more worthwhile
now that we had finally found each other
For the fruits of forever
are reaped by those who sow
with true belief and absolute trust
That the ultimate joining with
our one true soul mate
will come for each of us
